
In 2006 David, along with his sister Joanne, founded Newry Chamber Music. NCM is a concert society which provides world class professional chamber music concerts and music educational projects within the city of Newry (Northern Ireland) and the surrounding areas. As co-directors of NCM, David and Joanne have organised numerous concerts for the society. Recent highlights include performances by the Brodsky Quartet, the Vanburgh Quartet and internationally renowned clarinetist Michael Collins. NCM also prides itself in offering performance opportunites to established Irish musicians and to up and coming young musicians, presenting an annual Young Artist Platform concert.

From 2005 to 2011 David directed the Birmingham International Piano Academy (BIPA), a summer school and festival for pianists of all ages and nationalities. Held at Birmingham Conservatoire, the week long event attracted students from all over the world who participated in masterclasses, workshops, individual lessons and concerts. Tuition was provided by the esteemed piano faculty at Birmingham Conservatoire and distinguished visiting artists. Concerts and classes were given by world renowned pianists Peter Donohoe, Stephen Hough, John Lill, Steven Osborne, Piers Lane, Brigitte Engerer and Dmitri Alexxev to name a few.
As founder and director of BIPA, David was responsible for designing the summer school course content and timetable, overseeing the festival’s concert programming, liaising with the BIPA piano faculty and staff as well as teaching individual lessons, conducting workshops and performing during the event.
